Spring 2026 Retreat - 10-12th April 2026

My retreat weekends offer a total switch off from modern life. Although we do yoga, it much more than this: fresh air, walks, cozy nooks to read a good book, excellent food to nourish your body, a few healthy glasses of wine and wonderful company. Life is about balance rather than abstinence - chocolate and red wine can be part of this as much as yoga and meditation!

The retreat includes 2 nights accommodation, daily yoga classes and all food and drink. Arrival is 4pm on Friday; departure is 1pm on Sunday.

The Venue

We will be staying in rolling countryside near the village of Kempley, between the Malvern Hills and the Wye Valley. The owners of the Barns at Friars Court have lovingly restored the old granary, stables and cowshed of their farm, making a cosy, characterful and comfortable venue with a dedicated yoga space and lots of places for relaxing and socialising should you wish for privacy or company. It is located just off the M50 so is easily connected to the Midlands and South West. The closest train station is Ledbury, 7 miles away, with trains to London and Birmingham.

Activities

To honour the renewal that Spring brings, we will be invigorating and refreshing our practice, considering what we want to develop over the energised spring and summer months. Whether you are a beginner or experienced yogi, you will leave with fresh ideas with how to move forwards both on and off your yoga mat. The yoga will be varied: more flowing vinyasa yoga in the mornings and slower, gentler yin or restorative yoga in the afternoon/evening as well as mindfulness meditation and yoga nidra. The yoga is accessible to all and you are always more than welcome to simply lie on your mat and enjoy the ambience of the class if you don't feel like doing yoga!

However, the weekend is about more than yoga and you can choose to do very little or a lot. There are relaxing and quiet spaces to enjoy a good book or other quiet activities, beautiful countryside to walk in, and a hot tub to wallow in. It is your weekend to choose what you do with. There are some lovely walks from the doorstep, and there will be a guided mindful walk on Saturday to make the most of the local countryside. There is also a beautiful English Heritage Norman church, St. Mary's, at the bottom of the drive, should you wish to indulge in some history and culture.

Food & Drink

I am a big believer that wellbeing comes from being well nourished, and so I am thrilled that my good friend Ben Ranger will once again be providing the sustenance for my Spring retreat. Ben has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, running two restaurants, managing an events company and providing private dining. He has the added skill of being an ultra talented mixologist for our evening cocktails!

There will be carnivorous, vegetarian or vegan options, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks served, as well as plenty of tea, coffee, cake and delicious snacks on offer between meals.
